Im excited to be showing my installation Post Paradise at the Yerba Buena Center’s for the Art’s anua; Public Square along with many other artists who have been pursuing the question How might we pursue collective safety? . I will be there June 1 from 2-6 come through!
For the one year anniversary of the first Zaptista Encuentro for Women who struggle Im sharing a free pdf of the Corazones Diasporicos report back from the encuentro “Muxeres En Lucha.”
This zine is the collective work of five women of color in diaspora who live at intersections of oppressions and resiliances. We created this work to share the powerful experience hosted by our Zapatista compañeras and to share our own palabra. We believe its important for our voices to as women in diaspora, women traveling not for leisure but to connect, learn, build with other women who struggle against capitalism and patriarchy.
As you may have heard, this years encuentro was cancelled. If you have not had a chance to read the letter from Zaptista women to women who struggle all over the world about the cancelation please read it. You can find one tranlation here.

Corazones Diasporicos Muxeres En Lucha : WOC collective report back from the 2018 Zapatista Womens Encountro is officially out!
So honored to have been a part of this journey and the amazing process of creating this collective report back with 5 other muxeres. This fat lil zine includes the Zapatista Women's opening and closing statements, our WOC narrative experience navigating queerness, disability, class consumption, grief, rage and joy, international travel, workshop summaries, original art and photographs.

Joining so many talented muxeres at When She Rises ! When She Rises is a 10 week intersectional, intergenerational arts exchange centered on ecology and social justice. It will take place at the SPARC - the Social and Public Art Resource Center in a reclaimed jail in Venice, California. Opening July 7! So many amazing artsitsa and workshops. Check it out.

Great news! I will be participating in the next Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Fellowship! The YBCA Fellows program brings together creative citizens from across the Bay Area - artists and everyday people alike - to engage in a yearlong process of inquiry, dialogue, and project generation. Looking forward to connecting with other artists and organizers around the theme of collective safety.

In the spirit of DIY Art School and anti-capitalist space sharing, Im opening up my secret garden work space to QTPOC artists for short term self directed DIY residencies.
If you are looking for a quiet magical spot to focus your work this could be for you! Now accepting proposals for (1-30 days) for May and July. Offering day time access to my backyard, mini- studio workspace, outside storage, outside drafting and work tables, basic hand tools, wifi.
Accessibility: Access to backyard studio is through a very uneven narrow path, with one steep stair. Not wheelchair accessible. Space is not scent free, limited use of toxic materials (spraypaint, paint thinners). North Oakland, 1 mile from Ashby and Macarthur Bart.

Beyond delighted to have spent the last 2 weeks on art residency at my favorite queer land project Fancyland! I used the time to decompress from the city, read in the sun, and continue drawing for my graphic narrative project Fall Risk. As a queer disabled artist It is amazing to have a safe, accessible place to make art in the woods. If you are a queer artist organizer healer activist check them out!!!
